I am a crazy, curly haired wife, mother of two girls and two large dogs. My husband and I recently moved from the sprawling suburbs of Ottawa, Canada to the wonderful chaos of New York City. It has been an intense learning curve and an incredible opportunity. Join me on my adventures… I couldn’t make this stuff up if I tried!
Meet the Crew:

I LOVE your blog!!!!!! If I knew a famous director, I’d send him/her your way!!!!!!!
Awww… you are too sweet!
Nice going Sandra, I will live vicariously through you, NYC looks like such a great place, soooooo different from even the big city bustle of Toronto, keep it up.
Thanks Katrina!
Shopping stuff is really funny; but time to get busy on famous people sightings and photos.
We don’t need full pics; partials will do.
Now, get out there and start hunting! Here’s a map to get you started: http://nymag.com/news/people/18842/index4.html

Thanks Jo, I hope all is well with your family and that you are feeling great xox
So, how was the actual YOGA? All the lead-up, formulating jealousy over the lack of showers/steam room at my Barrhaven-based yoga studio, did you enjoy the class? You know, I’m bringing my yoga gear when I come in December!
Yoga was AMAZING! I have guest passes set aside just for you.
Stinnett,

MyCityWay Powers First-Ever Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade® Official Mobile App
Spectators at America’s favorite holiday tradition will have the Parade lineup, inflation information, route map, tourist destinations, a participant tracker, the Line of March, and much more in the palm of their hands
NEW YORK CITY – (November 21, 2011) – For the first time ever, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade® is bringing more magic to spectators through a new mobile app available for both iOS and Android. Powered by MyCityWay, the Official Mobile App of the 85th Anniversary Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade® will give spectators important Parade information plus a comprehensive guide to New York City all at their fingertips for free.
A longstanding American tradition now in its 85th year, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade® kicks-off the holiday season each year with its giant helium balloons, floats of fancy, marching bands, celebrities, performance groups and Santa Claus. The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade® mobile app will help spectators navigate these events by providing official Parade information, including the route map, Parade line-up, fun facts, photos, videos, and Parade events, along with various ways to explore the surrounding area for dining, restrooms, transportation, tourism destinations, Wifi hotspots and more. Even the guarded Line of March will be available to every spectator for the first time through the mobile app, giving them the ability to accurately predict when a Parade participant will cross their viewing spot.
“The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade provides an unforgettable experience for spectators young and old, and with this mobile app spectators won’t miss out on a single magical moment,” said Puneet Mehta, co-founder of MyCityWay. “By providing Parade patrons with up-to-date Parade information and useful tools for touring the city, this mobile app puts everything you need to have a spectacular start to the holiday season at your fingertips.”
Even more unprecedented is the inclusion of a special MyCityWay feature called Clingle that will allow spectators to track a variety of Parade participants in real-time, including 11 marching bands and the Spirit of America and Varsity Spirit Cheer performance groups. Within the official mobile app, spectators will have the option to download Clingle for iOS or Android to track participants and even enter for a chance to win VIP seating tickets through a fun scavenger hunt contest within Clingle. MyCityWay and Macy’s are taking the viewing experience to the next level by allowing a spectator from any part of the country to see when a Parade participant has crossed a destination on the Parade route, such as Columbus Circle, in real time and receive a notification with media attachments like photos and videos archived for friends to see and leave comments through Clingle.
Additional information on Parade events, including the always popular yearly balloon inflation event from 3-10 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, will also be available on the mobile app.
”Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has always been an event about surprise and spectacle, one that has captured the imagination of the public for 85 years,” said Amy Kule, executive producer of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. “With this mobile app, we are putting fun and useful information in the hands of Macy’s Parade fans, bringing them closer to the magic.”
The 85th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade® will step-off this year at 9 a.m., Nov. 24, at 77th Street and Central Park West in New York City.
Download MyCityWay’s official 85th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade® mobile app for iOS or Android All of the features are also accessible at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade® website. Tracking features are also available on Clingle’s website at http://www.clingle.com.
Be sure to follow MyCityWay on Twitter and tweet at them during the Parade using the hashtag #MacysParade. You can also friend MyCityWay on Facebook, subscribe to their Tumblr and check out the blog.

Hi there,
May 23, 2012 marks the one-year anniversary of NYC Parks and Beaches going smoke-free. The NYC Coalition for a Smoke-Free City is thrilled that NY parents will be able to take their kids to the beach in a few weeks without having to worry about cigarette butts or secondhand smoke. We feel that children should get a lesson on how to enjoy the outdoors, play baseball, and swim, NOT on how to smoke cigarettes.
Would it be possible for you to publicly “endorse” in your blog our NYC smoke-free parks and beaches to celebrate the anniversary? We think New Yorkers need to hear that NY Moms appreciate the policy and look forward to a smoke-free summer. Even the state parks located in NYC recently went smoke-free. Perhaps a piece in your blog about the anniversary and why it’s important for our parks and beaches to be smoke-free for kids?
We’d welcome your support. Please let me know if you’d be open to publicly endorsing smoke-free parks and beaches on behalf of your organization, which is widely-known and respected among New Yorkers. You can also refer your readers to our website (www.NYCSmokeFree.org) and to LIKE us on Facebook (facebook.com/NYCSmokeFree) and follow us on Twitter (twitter.com/@NYCSmokeFree). Thank you for your consideration.
Best regards,
John Sirabella
